Biber, Bäche, Balance – Wie unser Konsum die Natur verändert
Der Biber ist zurück in der Stadt – und mit ihm viele Fragen zur Rolle von Natur im urbanen Raum. In Kooperation mit Gerhard Schwab, dem Bibermanager Südbayern vom Bund Naturschutz und dem Bayerischen Naturschutzfonds, sowie der Ringvorlesung Umwelt der TUM lädt die Veranstaltung dazu ein, unsere Konsummuster im Kontext ökologischer Zusammenhänge zu hinterfragen. Im Fokus stehen die Auswirkungen von Umweltverschmutzung und Wasserbelastung auf städtische Ökosysteme und das Engagement für nachhaltige Veränderungen.

Bei einer geführten Biber-Exkursion mit dem Bibermanager Südbayern Gerhard Schwab rund um den Flaucher erkunden wir gemeinsam mit der Ringvorlesung Umwelt das Ökosystem des Bibers mitten in München. Die Exkursion zeigt anschaulich, wie unser Konsumverhalten natürliche Lebensräume beeinflusst – praxisnah und wissenschaftlich fundiert.
Die Veranstaltung findet in englischer Sprache statt und ist kostenlos für Studierende.

Hinweis: Gerhard Schwab arbeitet als Bibermanager Südbayern für den BUND Naturschutz e.V. Bayern. Finanziert wird diese Stelle zu 85 % vom Bayerischen Naturschutzfond im Rahmen der Gebietsbetreuung und zu 15 % vom BUND Naturschutz.

Beavers, brooks, balance – how our consumption is changing nature
The beaver is back in the city – and with it many questions about the role of nature in urban areas. In cooperation with Gerhard Schwab, the beaver manager for southern Bavaria from the Bund Naturschutz and the Bavarian Nature Conservation Fund, as well as the TUM’s Environmental Lecture Series, the event invites you to question our consumption patterns in the context of ecological relationships. The focus is on the effects of environmental pollution and water pollution on urban ecosystems and the commitment to sustainable change.
Tracking down beavers on the Isar

On a guided beaver excursion with beaver manager Gerhard Schwab from Southern Bavaria around the Flaucher, we will explore the beaver ecosystem in the middle of Munich together with the Environmental Lecture Series. The excursion clearly shows how our consumer behavior influences natural habitats – in a practical and scientifically sound way.
The event will be held in English and is free of charge for students.
